Zakat is owed, and where it lands matters. Yours can reach a child in one of Pakistan's least-served communities and keep them in school for the year ahead.

Understanding Zakat and who it is for

Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam, is obligatory upon every Muslim whose wealth meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold. Zakat is due only if the wealth equal to or above the Nisab has been owned for a full Islamic lunar year (hawl).

Nisab is the minimum amount of net capital that a Muslim must possess in order to be eligible to pay Zakat, which is prescribed as the equivalent of 87.48 grams (7.5 tola) of gold and 612.36 grams (52.5 tola) of silver, respectively.
